Gemora Data Deletion Policy

Effective Date: January 14, 2026 | Last Updated: January 14, 2026

Gemora respects your privacy and gives you control over your data. This page explains how you can request deletion of your account and personal data associated with Gemora.

1. What You Can Delete

When you request deletion, we can delete (or de-identify where appropriate) the following, depending on what exists in your account:

  • Account data: email, profile name, avatar (if any), account identifiers
  • User Content: chats, prompts, notes, journal entries, uploaded files (if supported)
  • Memory data: saved memories, summaries/tags/embeddings used for personalization
  • App settings: preferences, personalization settings
  • Support messages (if linked to your account)

If you only want to delete certain items (e.g., memories but keep account), you can use in-app controls if available, or request partial deletion via email.

2. How to Request Data Deletion

You have two options:

Option A: In-App Deletion (Recommended)

  1. Open Gemora
  2. Go to SettingsAccountDelete Account
  3. Follow the on-screen steps to confirm

Option B: Request via Email

Send an email to: support@gemora.app

Subject: Data Deletion Request

Include:

  • The email address used for your Gemora account
  • Your request (e.g., "Delete my account and all associated data")
  • Optional: what you want deleted specifically (e.g., "Delete memories only")

Note: For your safety, we may ask you to verify ownership of the account before deleting anything.

3. What Happens After You Request Deletion

3.1 Deletion Timeline

  • We typically process deletion requests within 30 days.
  • In some cases (e.g., complex data removal, safety investigations), it may take up to 90 days.

3.2 Confirmation

If requested via email, we will confirm once deletion is completed (or explain any exceptions).

4. Data We May Retain (Limited Exceptions)

Even after deletion, Gemora may retain certain information only where necessary for legitimate purposes, such as:

  • Legal compliance (tax, accounting, lawful requests)
  • Security and fraud prevention (e.g., abuse patterns, attack logs)
  • System integrity and backups (data may persist in encrypted backups until the next backup rotation)

Retention is limited and consistent with our Privacy Policy.

Typical examples:

  • Payment records and invoices may be retained for legally required periods
  • Security logs may be retained for a limited time to prevent abuse

5. Backups

Deleted data may remain in secure backups for up to 30 days and is deleted automatically as backups rotate. During this time, the data is not used to provide the Service to you.

6. Third-Party Processors

Gemora uses trusted third-party vendors (e.g., hosting, analytics, payments, AI providers) to run the Service. When deletion is processed, we also send deletion instructions to relevant processors where applicable and technically feasible.

Vendors include:

  • Hosting/Storage: Google Cloud Platform, AWS
  • Payments: Google Play Billing, Apple App Store, Stripe
  • Analytics/Crash reporting: Firebase Analytics
  • AI processing: Google AI, OpenAI
